29 Feb BDT – Brasseurs du Temps with 2 Forks in the road
When Richard and I visit the Ottawa/Gatineau area we always stop at BDT. Brasseurs du Temps is a micro brewery just on the Québec side of the bridge! It’s a brewery, a beer museum and a delicious and popular restaurant! It never fails! A large selection of unique beers, great local gastronomic staples and while you wait, visit the impressive museum!
In the summer, they offer a super romantic patio with the occasional live band.
When you visit you must try the “clock” ! Twelve 3oz. beer come on a plater, numbered like a clock. You then work through the clock, one beer at a time while reading about the beer you are drinking on the menu! It’s a fun wait to taste all the
brews they have on tap at the time!
Now, as for the food… Here you will eat like a true Quebecer! Baked brie with bacon jam and toasted pecans (Yeah seriously, It’s our favourite!), duck confit, cheese platters, chicken wings, burgers and specialty poutines! Here, you will not go hungry!
If you know me even a little, you know that I am a sucker for a good local cheese! The cheese platter here is a perfect pairing of 4 tasty Québec cheeses! Try it! Not your average cheddar!
But really, if the food, the beer, the amazing staff and a sweet museum doesn’t do it for you, I don’t know what would! Make a reservation though, and plan on hunting for a parking spot! Don’t speak french, no worries, the staff is bilingual and so are the menus!
We hope that you will make your way to Brasseurs de temps and that you enjoy it just as much as we do!
