Wondering what to do this winter? Bundle up in your winter coat & your mitts and make your way to the “Soo”. A friend of mine, who lives in Sault Ste. Marie has a couple suggestions for all of us to enjoy! 10 things to do in Sault Ste. Marie during winter! Ryley has been living in the “Soo” for years. She has had no problems entertaining her daughter with all the local activities.
1- Bon Soo winter Carnival:
It’s on right now! Bum slides, pancake breakfasts, concerts and tons of family friendly winter activities. Get in on the action.
2- Stay at Water tower Inn :
According to locals, this is the best place to stay in Sault Ste. Marie. It offers great rooms, good prices, an amazing pools and a spa! What’s not to love after a long day filled with winter activities?
3- Ice caves:
Cold weather has some perks I suppose. You can visit impressive Ice caves in the Sault area! You can even hire a guide to try ice climbing. Combine a day of snowshoeing, ice climbing and a nice warm meal. What’s not to be excited about?
Never skied before? No problem, take lessons, rent equipment and even rent a beautiful lodge and enjoy your own Hot tub! If skiing isn’t your thing, at least you can enjoy cocktails in the hot tub!
Not feeling the cold weather? Maybe a fun and educational museum is your thing? The Sault bush plane museum is fun for all age groups! Affordable, and it keeps you out of the cold for a bit! :p
Lots of great dinning options here! What’s better than a nice warm meal after a day out in the snow? Italian or smokehouse, make your choice, you can’t go wrong!
